We renovated 2 floors of commercial office space for this non profit that works with communities worldwide to bring sustainable change to improve the lives of the vulnerable. We worked to enhance collaboration within the departments, including a new stair between floors, open workspaces and sunlit meeting areas.

KaBOOM works to protect and promote play spaces, focusing on play space in low income communities, by connecting communities to private-public partnerships. As such - both play and collaboration are foundations of KaBOOM's culture, and ARKTX strove to bring these into their new workplace.

This long time client perfected and popularized the innovative slow-cooking method "sous-vide" - and continues to excel at delivering dining solutions from cruise and airlines to five-start restaurants. For the past decade of remarkable growth, ARKTX has supported Cuisine Solutions with both factory and office expansions- including demonstration kitchens and presentation areas, clean rooms and laboratory spaces. We continue to collaborate with them to bring their unique vision to the workplace.
Sojourners is a faith based association, that purchased their first workplace in 2017. Envisioned as a hub for the pursuit of social justice, peace and environmental stewardship, we worked with a team Sojourners to build a collaborative, dynamic work environment, renovating a collection of 3 story townhouse buildings- while adhering to strict budget constraints.
The Washington Revels is a community based cultural institution performing and celebrating in Washington DC for over 30 years. Excited to locate in their own building, we worked closely with the Revels to make the existing collection of abandoned residential shops into a Studio space, offices and scene shop - a location that strengthened the ties to the community- with events like Community Sings, parades, a May festival and monthly house concerts. ARKTX transformed the façade and exterior with an expansion to the lower level and new mezzanine to meet the needs to this growing institution.
We assist Sierra Club in their lobbying office relocation from disjointed townhouse space to 2 floors in a commercial building, blocks from the U.S. Capitol. In alignment with the Sierra Club's grassroots environmental goals, this project was designed and constructed prioritizing sustainability and a healthy workplace, and as such, the project was certified LEED Gold upon completion.
Meals on Wheels America
As the oldest and largest organization devoted to fighting senior isolation and hunger, the Meal on Wheels America continues to expand throughout the country. ARKTX supported their headquarters relocation to new offices in Crystal City, Virginia. With a growing workforce of millennials, the move was an opportunity for the work place to better support the paradigm shift - with a variety of open, sunlit workspaces, meeting and collaboration areas.
DCRC Counseling Center
Nicknamed "the Lighthouse" by our team, this Counseling Center is a beacon for victims of crime, the project being a collaboration of District institutions: police, forensics and hospitals to expedite assistance to victims in a safe and caring environment.
